Say goodbye to contacting our support team whenever you want to restore a backup of your site. You can now restore site backups from directly in the dashboard.
We've finished building and testing the functionality of the restore backups feature, and now it's all yours. From the Backups area of the dashboard, select the backup version that you wish to restore and click Restore.
The process usually takes about 5-10 minutes, but if your site is very large, it may take longer. While your backup is being restored, we switch your site into the WordPress maintenance mode, but this will disappear automatically when the restore is complete.
Some other important notes to keep in mind when restoring backups are:
To restore a backup, you must have taken a backup within the past hour. If you haven't, our dashboard will prompt you to do so. This is so that there is a reliable rollback version just in case something goes wrong during the backup recovery process. We plan to automate this as part of the entire restore backup process in the future.
If a backup recovery stalls, contact our support team. We’ve got a process in place to fix it.
You’ll receive some emails during the recovery process - once when the recovery begins and another when it is complete.
Restoring a site backup includes web files and the database.
